How Injuries Heal

Iced & Rest vs. Strengthen & Stretch

Physiotherapists are trained in the understanding of how injuries heal. This forms the basis of where treatment will occur after the initial assessment reveals the source of the injury. With proper guidance, in the appropriate age of healing, we will have a better understanding to either take an ice and rest approach vs. a strengthen and stretch approach. At Boehm’s Physiotherapy, we have a variety of techniques that fit the appropriate timing based on where you are at in your healing process. This provides the smoothest transition from injury to getting back to doing what you love. Without this understanding, there can be unnecessary soreness, confusion and an unsureness about how to get back to the activities you love.

In our Martensville Physiotherapy clinic, we have guided many people through the stages of tissue healing and back to their regular activity. Understanding and respecting tissue healing and how it occurs makes results in a smooth transition back to a healthy recovery.

At Boehm’s Physiotherapy, we pride ourselves on serving each patient with dignity, respect, and compassion.
