We need to walk well before we can run. Often after an injury, particularly a lower body injury, your walking and running patterns can change. Gait (your everyday walking pattern) is something that you do thousands of times every day. This makes it VERY important to ensure proper technique so that you are not placing strain in a specific area. We are experts at both walking and running and from that proper analysis we can build strength exercises and movement drills to restore you to perfect form. It is difficult to self-analyze your running and walking patterns and as trained physiotherapists, we can easily see these faults during your walk or run.
Once analyzed, we can break it into easy and simple drills to being to restore better motion which will result in smoother and easier movements. This will also result in ultimately stronger and faster movements that you can easily repeat. A strong foundation of proper movements is much like a foundation on a house. The more solid your movement patterns are, the stronger the foundation for you to run on safely.
